The JarvisBox sync light is red and when you access the JarvisBox settings an error message "Conflict on local filename"or "Collision possible because of breakage"appears in red.
Why?
At least two files or directories have a name with the same spelling and a different case (capital/lower case alternation). This is the case, for example, if you have a file called "Document" (with a capital letter) and another file called "document" (without capital) in the same JarvisDrive directory.
Windows computers are not "case sensitive", i.e., it does not differentiate between two files/directories if their name has the same spelling, regardless of the case used for both. Mac computers, on the other hand, can be set to be "Cache-sensitive". A case-sensitive computer will make the difference between two files with the same spelling in their name if the case is different.
The solution in this case is to rename or remove duplicates.
- Open the JarvisBox app (see article "Open the JarvisBox app")
- Go to the first tab of the app, where your JarvisDrive ID appears
- Identify the element(s) affected by the message “Collision possible due to breakage, as well as the path of access
- Open the directory containing conflict elements in JarvisDrive (see article "Access the JarvisDrive directory of a folder")
- Rename or delete conflict elements (see article "Manage a file/directory via JarvisDrive")
